Features for Productivity

For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Auto Page Size do its job.

You should use the Automated Rotation of Documents for non specific orientation. The Canon DR-C230 has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.

The first productivity feature that we look for is the Auto Color . The Canon DR-C230 has this feature and we recommend you use it.

I can’t imagine running a scanner without the Blank document removal . This setting is mandatory on just about any machine and it is available on the Canon DR-C230.

You will definitely enjoy the Multi image output . It’s a life saver, for clients that are picky with their output

Quality of images

While the Background Removal works great with most documents, you should double check documents with images and pictures.

I preffer using the Page Margin Cleanup setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though

Skew Reduction can be done by enabling this setting in the scanner driver. It will only conflict with other special settings on the Canon DR-C230 scanner from time to time, so keep it on.

Correct Punched Holes is a setting that is missing on the Canon DR-C230. I would have wished it was active.|Would you get a scanner without the Correct Punched Holes function as it is the situation with the Canon DR-C230.

I preffer using Vertical Streaks Reduction on typed pages, but this device doesn’t feature it.

Extra Features

How good is the Canon DR-C230 for crumpled documents? Just turn on the Manual Feed Mode and check for yourself!

What I love about the Bar Code Discovery modules, are the QR code recognition features. It makes for flawless scanning.

As you probably know, Auto Document Separation works with Barcodes or Patchcodes.

An Optical Character Reading is standard with this scanner, as you would expect.

Have you worked with Field Indexing ? Try it, especially for forms processing.
