Features for Productivity
For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Auto Crop do its job.You should use the Auto Image Rotate for non specific orientation. The Epson DS-860 has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.
One of the productivity features that we love is Auto Color . This Epson DS-860 scanner works with such a setting.
You have probably heard of the White page detection setting. Well, it will be available with this scanner so we recommend you enable it.
You will definitely enjoy the Multi image output . It’s a life saver, for clients that are picky with their output
Quality of images
With the Epson DS-860 you can expect perfectly clean documents. Just enable the Background Cleaning and let it do its magic.Sometimes the Edge Correction function might not work correctly. For the Epson DS-860 with colored images.
Straightening documents automatically is possible with the Epson DS-860. Luckily, the Document Allignment feature will allign most images quite well.
No more black holes on the side of the paper. Now you can cover them during scanning with the Perforated Page Correction option in the Epson DS-860 driver.
I preffer using Streaks Removal on typed pages, but the scanner here is missing it.
Extra Features
Sometimes I prefer enabling the Feeding Paper by Hand from the driver, to make sure the Epson DS-860 will process older documents safely.I’ve started indexing through Barcode Recognition for some time now, most often using QR codes. This scanner has Barcode Recognition , but check if it’s optional or standard.
Always make sure your scanner has the Auto Document Separation available. Especially for QR Codes
It’s safe to say that Optical Character Reading is something no scanner should miss. Scanning is not possible without it today.
