What’s good? This Epson DS-780N scans at 90 images / minute, has a big and nice touchscreen, network connectivity, a 100-sheet ADF tray and 3-year warranty

What’s bad? The price is a bit high and it has no wi-fi Should I buy it? If you can get a good deal on it, definitely. How much does it cost at the moment?

While this is something normal these days, the Epson DS-780N has the Automtic Page Size Detection function. Keep it enabled for most scanning jobs.

You should use the Automated Rotation of Documents for non specific orientation. The Epson DS-780N has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.

Don’t be worried, the Epson DS-780N scanning equipment features the Automatic Color Detection setting, and it’s very easy to use.

When was the last time you had to remove blank pages manually? The Epson DS-780N will do this automatically, when you use the White page detection function.

Quality of images

While the Background Cleaning works great with most documents, you should double check documents with images and pictures.

Have you tried using the Document Edge Cleanup for images? If it works correctly for pictures, then keep it enabled on the Epson DS-780N permanently.

Straightening documents automatically is possible with the Epson DS-780N. Luckily, the Deskew document feature will allign most images quite well.

For standard documents, I always have the Hole Punch Removal setting turned on in the driver.

The Streaks Filtering setting is most often sold on more expensive equipment . The scanner in question is missing Streaks Filtering .

When scanning fragile documents, this Feed Paper Manually setting will help you scan safely with the Epson DS-780N.

I’ve started indexing through Barcode Recognition for some time now, most often using QR codes. This scanner has Barcode Recognition , but check if it’s optional or standard.

Always make sure your scanner has the Separate Documents Automatically available. Especially for QR Codes
