Fujitsu fi-7160 Datasheet Explained

The Fujitsu fi-7160 has a digitization surface of 8.27 in x 11.69 in.

As with most of the scanning devices, the Fujitsu fi-7160 will obtain a true dots per inch of 1200.

A scanner like this, is working with a CCD sensor.

USB 3.0 is what this equipment can be connected with .

Expect a scanning speed of up to 60 Pages per minute in simplex mode.

On the other hand, in duplex mode the Fujitsu fi-7160 will scan at 120 Images per minute in duplex mode .

Scanning 4,000 documents should not be a problem, given this equipment’s daily Recommended volume.

When analyzing the communication interface you will understand that the Fujitsu fi-7160 driver operates on Twain and ISIS.

If you have to do roller replacement, then most likely they have scanned around 600.000 pages.

Specs for paper handling

To prevent double feeding, this equipment uses an Overlap detection (Ultrasonic sensor), Length detection for proper Multifeed Detection.

If you are wondering what the Capacity of the ADF is, well we can tell you that it is around 80.

Scanning documents of 7.2 to 112 lb. is possible with the Fujitsu fi-7160.

It’s good news that the Fujitsu fi-7160 has a long page feature, and it will scan 220 in in document size.

Fujitsu fi-7160 accesories unboxing

The equipment has a size of 12 x 6 x 6 inches.

The Fujitsu fi-7160 is weighing somewhere around 9.2 lbs. This mass doesn’t account for any other extra items that can be fitted to the device.

Regarding the included software, the Fujitsu fi-7160 has the PaperStream IP, PaperStream Capture, ScanSnap Manager for fi Series, Scanner Central Admin Agent.

Features for Productivity

For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Auto Page Size do its job.

I like the Automatic Rotation of Images for documents that are not homogenous when it comes to orientation. A mix of portrait and landscape documents will be handled by the Automatic Rotation of Images mode.

One of the productivity features that we love is Automatic Color Detection . This Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner works with such a setting.

When was the last time you had to remove blank pages manually? The Fujitsu fi-7160 will do this automatically, when you use the Blank page detection function.

You will definitely enjoy the Dual stream scanning . It’s a life saver, for clients that are picky with their output

Quality of images

Remember the time when you had to use photoshop for scans? Especially on the Fujitsu fi-7160 the Background Cleaning is an image enhancement feature you should use.

I preffer using the Image Edge Fill setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though

When you have bad quality paper going through the Fujitsu fi-7160, just keep the Deskew document box active and you should have perfectly alligned pages.

When was the last time you had Perforated Page Correction turned off? Personally, I can’t remember when that was.

Let’s be honest, keping the Fujitsu fi-7160 perfectly clean all the time can be challenging. The Streaks Filtering setting optimizes scanning results between cleaning cycles.

Extra Features

When scanning fragile documents, this Feed Paper Manually setting will help you scan safely with the Fujitsu fi-7160.

I can’t imagine scanning without Detect Barcodes . It really is a good separation or indexing method.

Are you currently using the Separate Documents Automatically ? I really encourage you to try Separate Documents Automatically with QR codes.

The OCR is mandatory on just about any scanner and the Fujitsu fi-7160 comes as standard with it.

For predefined forms I preffer the OCR Predefined Zone , just like with other standardized documents.
