When was the last time you had to remove blank pages manually? The Xerox 6440 will do this automatically, when you use the Blank document removal function.
Going through the driver of the Multi image output , you will soon notice it does not feature Multi image output .
Quality of images
The Background Smoothing is a must have feature with any scanner and the Xerox 6440 scanner has it as standard.Have you tried using the Page Margin Cleanup for images? If it works correctly for pictures, then keep it enabled on the Xerox 6440 permanently.
Straightening Image can be done by enabling this setting in the scanner driver. It will only conflict with other special settings on the Xerox 6440 scanner from time to time, so keep it on.
Hole Punch Removal is a setting that is not installed on the Xerox 6440. I would have preffered it was available.|Would you purchase a scanner without the Hole Punch Removal setting as it is the case with the Xerox 6440.
I really like using Streaks Detection on text documents, but this device doesn’t feature it.
Extra Features
Should you use the Manual Feed Mode mode with this machine? I would say it works well on the Xerox 6440 scanner.I’ve started indexing through Barcode Recognition for some time now, most often using QR codes. This scanner has Barcode Recognition , but check if it’s optional or standard.
On the Xerox 6440 the Separate Documents Automatically function is not available. That decreases the productivity significantly.
An Optical Character Reading is standard with this scanner, as you would expect.
Usually, the Zonal OCR is available either or on expensive scanners or expensive software. The Xerox 6440 is missing this feature.
