I just love the Dual stream scanning spec. It allows me to output files in color, black and white or grayscale in the same job

Quality of images

The Background Smoothing is a must have feature with any scanner and the Canon DR-G2140 scanner has it as standard.

The Edge Correction helps you by cleaning your scanned scanned documents.

One of the images processing functions I like is the Straightening Image feature. Use it and you will not be dissapointed.

Black dots on the side of the document? Tick the Hole Removal box and your Canon DR-G2140 scanner will fill them automatically.

The Vertical Streaks Reduction setting is often sold on higher end equipment . The Canon DR-G2140 we are reviewing here is missing Vertical Streaks Reduction .

Extra Features

Sometimes I prefer enabling the Manual Feed Mode from the driver, to make sure the Canon DR-G2140 will process older documents safely.

Check if your scanner comes with free Barcode Recognition . If not, buy this option or get another scanner who has it.

Always check if the Automatic Separation of Documents is free on the scanner. I have seen some manufacturers selling the barcode option.

The Optical Character Reading is mandatory on just about any scanner and the Canon DR-G2140 comes as standard with it.

Field Indexing is easy to use and is a standard feature with the Canon DR-G2140.
