Features for Productivity
I love using the biggest scanning size and just enable the Auto Page Size, especially for mixed documents.You should use the Automated Rotation of Documents for non specific orientation. The Canon DR-G2140 has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.
The first productivity feature that we look for is the Automatic Color Detection . The Canon DR-G2140 has this feature and we recommend you use it.
I can’t imagine running a scanner without the Blank document removal . This setting is mandatory on just about any machine and it is available on the Canon DR-G2140.
You will definitely enjoy the Dual stream scanning . It’s a life saver, for clients that are picky with their output

Straightening documents automatically is possible with the Canon DR-G2140. Luckily, the Straightening Image feature will allign most images quite well.
No more black holes on the side of the paper. Now you can cover them during scanning with the Perforated Page Correction option in the Canon DR-G2140 driver.
The Streaks Filtering function is usually delivered on more expensive devices . The scanner we are reviewing here does not have Streaks Filtering .
Extra Features
Should you use the Feed Paper Manually mode with this machine? I would say it works well on the Canon DR-G2140 scanner.What I love about the Barcode Recognition modules, are the QR code recognition features. It makes for flawless scanning.
Always check if the Auto Separation is free on the scanner. I have seen some manufacturers selling the barcode option.
The Optical Character Reading is mandatory on just about any scanner and the Canon DR-G2140 comes as standard with it.
