The VuPoint InstaScan Pro can scan 8 images per minute. This is quite slow compared to other scanners of a similar price. It, however, has a high resolution of up to 1200 dpi. 1200 dpi is a lot, it’s more than you will ever need. You can do normal office work with 300 or 600dpi without any problems. At 1200 dpi the resolution is excellent.
It can scan a variety of documents up to A4 size. It has a maximum document size of 8.5 in. x 130 in. (215 x 3302 mm). This means that it can scan documents that are as long as 130 inches (3.30 meters). In terms of document thickness, it can scan a variety of documents ranging from plain paper to photos.
It supports Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, USB 1.0/1.1 interfaces. It is a wireless scanner and this means that it can be used to scan documents to mobile devices. It can be used standalone since it does not have to be connected to a computer via USB to work.

Features for Productivity

It does not offer Automatic Image Rotation. This means that the scans are stored just as they are scanned. For instance, if you scan a document in landscape mode, the scan will also be in landscape mode.
It offers Automatic Image Cropping which ensures that images are cropped automatically to remove any unwanted lines and spots on the edges.
While a document may have a clean background to the naked eye, when you scan it, the background might not look clean. Most scanners offer Background Removal to help clean the background. This scanner does not offer this feature and it may compromise the clarity and quality of the images.

Quality of images
The VuPoint InstaScan Pro scanner supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This enables it to create editable and searchable PDF files.
It does not support Automatic Deskew. Automatic Deskew is a feature that aligns documents that were not scanned straight. This may compromise the quality of images that are not scanned straight.
It does not offer Punch Hole Removal. This means that when scanning documents that have punch holes, the holes will appear in the scans. This may not affect the quality of the images in any way. Mostly the punch holes do not interfere with the documents’ contents. The punch holes will just appear as small, black circles.
