Panasonic KV-N1058X Review | Small, Wireless, Fast … Great!

The Panasonic KV-S 1058X is a real connectivity king, given that it will connect through a wireless or wired network

Scanning speed is around 65ppm which puts the scanner right in the middle of its class considering the performance it offers

The scanner does however come with a nice touchscreen which is definitely of help when you want to scan on the fly without going too deep into settings and destinations.

Features for Productivity

For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Automtic Page Size Detection do its job.

You should use the Auto Image Rotate for non specific orientation. The Panasonic KV-N1058X has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.

One of the productivity features that we love is Auto Color . This Panasonic KV-N1058X scanner works with such a setting.

I can’t imagine running a scanner without the Blank document removal . This setting is mandatory on just about any machine and it is available on the Panasonic KV-N1058X.

As you’d imagine, the Dual stream scanning is featured in the Panasonic KV-N1058X driver settings. It can be a life saver some of the times.

Quality of images

While the Background Cleaning works great with most documents, you should double check documents with images and pictures.

I preffer using the Image Edge Fill setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though

One of the images processing functions I like is the Deskew document feature. Use it and you will not be dissapointed.

Black dots on the side of the document? Tick the Correct Punched Holes box and your Panasonic KV-N1058X scanner will fill them automatically.

I preffer using Streaks Detection on typed pages, but the Panasonic KV-N1058X does not have this option.

Extra Features

Sometimes I prefer enabling the Manual Feed Mode from the driver, to make sure the Panasonic KV-N1058X will process older documents safely.

Check if your scanner comes with free Bar Code Discovery . If not, buy this option or get another scanner who has it.

Are you currently using the Auto Document Separation ? I really encourage you to try Auto Document Separation with QR codes.

When was the last time you bought a scanner without Optical Character Reading . A long time ago for sure.

For predefined forms I preffer the OCR Predefined Zone , just like with other standardized documents.
