Fujitsu N7100 | Still good enough but we have an alternative!

The Fujitsu N7100 provides great network scanning capabilities, fitting well into your daily office tasks

It has most of the scanning features all the modern scanners have, but the large LCD screen allows you to operate everything by hand

This should be fast enough for most tasks, and combined with the network scanning, it should fit well into custom made applications.

Fujitsu N7100 Datasheet Explained

When it comes to the capture size, the Fujitsu N7100 will process pages up to 11.69 in x 16.54 in.

An equipment like the Fujitsu N7100, achieves an optical resolution of 600.

A scanner like this one, is operating using a CCD sensor.

Ethernet LAN is what this equipment can be connected with .

The rated speed of the scanner is 25 Documents every minute in simplex.

If you try the duplex scanning mode, 50 Documents per minute in duplex mode should be possible in optimum conditions

You should expect the rollers to be able to scan approximately 600.000 normal pages.

Specs for paper handling

Multifeed Detection is a standard feature, with a high quality Overlap detection (Ultrasonic sensor), Length detection to prevent any possible problems.

If you look at the the ADF size of this scanner, you will notice that it can hold 50 pages .

The maximum Document Weight that the Fujitsu N7100 can process is around 7.2 to 110 lb.

Documents up to 120 in in length, can be processed by the Fujitsu N7100.

Fujitsu N7100 accesories unboxing

When one has concerns regarding the dimmensions, they should be 12 x 9 x 9 inches.

The Fujitsu N7100 is weighing somewhere around 28.7 lbs. This weight doesn’t involve any optional that can be fitted to the scanner.

In the box you will find the following software: Embedded PaperStream IP.

Features for Productivity

While this is something normal these days, the Fujitsu N7100 has the Auto Page Size function. Keep it enabled for most scanning jobs.

I like the Automatic Rotation of Images for documents that are not homogenous when it comes to orientation. A mix of portrait and landscape documents will be handled by the Automatic Rotation of Images mode.

It’s always a nice thing to have colored documents detected automatically. A Fujitsu N7100 offers this function as standard through its driver.

You have probably heard of the Blank page detection setting. Well, it will be available with this scanner so we recommend you enable it.

It’s still strange to think the Fujitsu N7100 does not have Multi image output . It’s a bad surprise from my point of view.

Quality of images

I have seen the Background Cleaning setting improve with every update of the driver, and it is the same case with the Fujitsu N7100 scanner.

I preffer using the Image Edge Fill setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though

Straightening documents automatically is possible with the Fujitsu N7100. Luckily, the Document Allignment feature will allign most images quite well.

Hole Punch Removal is a feature that is missing on the Fujitsu N7100. I would have wished it was present.|Would you purchase a device without the Hole Punch Removal function as it is the case with the Fujitsu N7100.

I really like using Streaks Removal on typed pages, but this device is missing it.

Extra Features

Can you use the Fujitsu N7100 to scan really old documents? It should work if you enable the Manual Feeding settings.

If you want to use the equipment with the Barcode Recognition option, you will not be happy. The Fujitsu N7100 is not delivered with the barcode separation feature.

On the Fujitsu N7100 the Separate Documents Automatically function is not present. That decreases the efficiency significantly.

I can’t imagine this scanner without the OCR setting, as I tend to use it quite a lot these days.

The Fujitsu N7100 does not come with the Field Indexing feature.
