The Canon DR M1060 was built to bring people closer to A3 document scannes

The main attraction point about this scanner is the price, which is considerably lower than your average A3 scanner

At the same time, you can’t neglect its performances, as it will sit all day at 60ppm and hold around 80 sheets of paper in its feeder.

Features for Productivity

For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Automtic Page Size Detection do its job.

I like the Automated Rotation of Documents for documents that are not homogenous when it comes to orientation. A mix of portrait and landscape documents will be handled by the Automated Rotation of Documents mode.

Don’t be worried, the Canon DR-M1060 scanning equipment features the Automatic Color Detection setting, and it’s very easy to use.

Affraid of manually removing white pages? Don’t be, as the White page detection is available with the Canon DR-M1060.

Thinking of using the Dual stream scanning function? Go ahead, as it is standard on the Canon DR-M1060.

Quality of images

While the Smooth Background works great with most documents, you should double check documents with images and pictures.

I preffer using the Edge Correction setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though

Can you trust the Skew Reduction totally? Maybe not, but on the Canon DR-M1060 it will work perfectly most of the time.

For standard documents, I always have the Hole Punch Removal setting turned on in the driver.

I preffer using Streaks Filtering on documents with writing only, but the Canon DR-M1060 is missing it.

Extra Features

How good is the Canon DR-M1060 for crumpled documents? Just turn on the Feeding Paper by Hand and check for yourself!

I can’t imagine scanning without Barcode Detection . It really is a good separation or indexing method.

Always check if the Auto Document Separation is free on the scanner. I have seen some manufacturers selling the barcode option.

When was the last time you bought a scanner without OCR . A long time ago for sure.

Would you scan forms without the OCR Predefined Zone module? I enjoy the OCR Predefined Zone setting too much not to use it.
