Features for Productivity

For mixed size documents, I usually set maximum size and let the Automatic Cropping do its job.

I like the Automated Rotation of Documents for documents that are not homogenous when it comes to orientation. A mix of portrait and landscape documents will be handled by the Automated Rotation of Documents mode.

It’s often a good thing to have color pages identified automatically. A Alaris Kodak i3250 scanner will let you use this function easily.

I can’t imagine running a scanner without the Blank document removal . This setting is mandatory on just about any machine and it is available on the Alaris Kodak i3250.

I just love the Multi image output spec. It allows me to output files in color, black and white or grayscale in the same job

Quality of images

Gone are the days when post processing of documents is required. With the Background Smoothing option, your documents will have a perfect background.

Sometimes the Document Edge Cleanup function might not work correctly. For the Alaris Kodak i3250 with colored images.

Can you trust the Document Allignment totally? Maybe not, but on the Alaris Kodak i3250 it will work perfectly most of the time.

Correct Punched Holes is interesting to use as it provides you with clean images on the perforated side.

Should you have the Streaks Filtering function always turned on? Especially for text documents I recommend you leave it on.

Extra Features

Sometimes I prefer enabling the Feed Paper Manually from the driver, to make sure the Alaris Kodak i3250 will process older documents safely.

I’ve started indexing through Bar Code Discovery for some time now, most often using QR codes. This scanner has Bar Code Discovery , but check if it’s optional or standard.

As you probably know, Automatic Separation of Documents works with Barcodes or Patchcodes.

It’s safe to say that Optical Character Recognition is something no scanner should miss. Scanning is not possible without it today.

Have you worked with OCR Predefined Zone ? Try it, especially for forms processing.
