The Multifeed Detection on the scanner works by using Overlap detection (Ultrasonic sensor) to make sure no double feeds happen.

You will have to work with an ADF size of 100 documents, on this machine.

When it comes to Document thickness the Brother PDS-6000 is capable of handling paper of 7.5 lb. to 106 lb.

A Long Document Scanning Mode is available with the Brother PDS-6000 . It can scan documents of up to 236 in in length .

Features for Productivity

The Automtic Page Size Detection is a setting that still amazes me today. It works very well with the Brother PDS-6000 scanner.

The driver of the the Brother PDS-6000 offers Automatic Rotation of Images , and it is easy to use it.

It’s often a good thing to have color pages identified automatically. A Brother PDS-6000 scanner will let you use this function easily.

I can’t imagine running a scanner without the White page detection . This setting is mandatory on just about any machine and it is available on the Brother PDS-6000.

Multi image output is a standard feature on scanners these days, but not on the Brother PDS-6000. I must say it’s a bit dissapointing.

Quality of images

With the Brother PDS-6000 you can expect perfectly clean documents. Just enable the Smooth Background and let it do its magic.

With the Edge Correction on the Brother PDS-6000 scanner, your scanned images will look better than your paper documents

Can you trust the Skew Reduction totally? Maybe not, but on the Brother PDS-6000 it will work perfectly most of the time.

Perforated Page Correction is interesting to use as it provides you with clean images on the perforated side.

I preffer using Vertical Streaks Reduction on text documents, but this device does not have this option.

Extra Features

Can you use the Brother PDS-6000 to scan really old documents? It should work if you enable the Manual Feeding settings.

I can’t imagine scanning without Barcode Detection . It really is a good separation or indexing method.

On the Brother PDS-6000 the Auto Separation setting is not available. That decreases the efficiency significantly.

I can’t imagine this scanner without the OCR setting, as I tend to use it quite a lot these days.

The Brother PDS-6000 does not come with the OCR Predefined Zone feature.
