Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D Datasheet Explained

The Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D has a scan speed up to 15 images per minute. This is not an outstanding speed but it does have an optical resolution of 600 dpi. For quick scanning, you need to look to other portable scanners. The daily duty cycle for the Visioneer Roadwarrior 4d duplex is rated at 100 scans per day.

It supports USB 2.0 connectivity. It does not support wireless connectivity and this means that it can only scan to a computer when connected via USB port. It is USB powered and can be used on the go without AC power.

It comes bundled with TWAIN, WIA, ICA driver interfaces. These driver interfaces enable it to be easily integrated into custom applications. It also comes with a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) sensor. This sensor requires the documents to touch the scanning glass perfectly for a perfect scan. This may compromise the image quality when scanning old or crumpled documents.

It can scan a variety of documents up to A4 paper size. It can scan documents that are as large as 8.5 in. x 32 in. (215 x 812 mm). This means that it can scan documents that as long as 32in. Features for Productivity

Duplex Scanning is a very important feature when it comes to a scanner’s efficiency. The Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D scanner offers duplex scanning which makes it very efficient, especially when dealing with heavy workloads.

It offers Automatic Color Detection. This is a great feature, especially when scanning mixed color documents. It enables the scanner to create great duplicates.

It also offers Automatic Image Rotation. This means that it can detect if the image is upside down and automatically adjusts it accordingly. Additionally, it offers Automatic Image Cropping which ensures that images are cropped automatically to remove any unwanted lines and spots on the edges.

While a document may have a clean background to the naked eye, when you scan it, the background might not look clean. Most scanners offer Background Removal to help clean the background. This scanner does not offer this feature and it may compromise the clarity of the images.

Quality of images

The Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D scanner does not offer Automatic Deskew. Automatic Deskew is a feature that aligns documents that were not scanned straight. This may compromise the quality of documents that are not scanned straight but it can be avoided by using the scanner’s plastic shroud to feed documents.

It does not offer Punch Hole Removal. This means that when scanning documents that have punch holes, the holes will appear in the scans. This may not affect the quality of the images in any way. Mostly the punch holes do not interfere with the documents’ contents. The punch holes will just appear as small, black circles.

It comes with an Optical Character Reader (OCR) which enables it to create searchable and editable documents. This is a great feature, especially when organizing the scanned documents. It is easy to find files and store them appropriately..

Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D accesories unboxing

The Visioneer Roadwarrior 4D scanner does not come with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) tray. This, however, should not be something to worry about since it can compromise the scanner’s portability and weight.

In terms of size, this sheetfed scanner has the following dimensions: 11.5 in. x 1.6 in. x 2.6 in. (29.2 x 4 x 6.6 cm). This makes it very portable. It is also very light. It weighs 1.1 lb. (0.5 kg) only! It is indeed the Road Warrior. You can carry it wherever you go and use it whenever you need to scan anything.

This duplex mobile scanner comes with bundled software that makes it user-friendly as well as ensures the quality of the images is better. The software includes Visioneer OneTouch with Acuity, ABBYY Fine Reader Sprint, Visioneer Scan Utility for Mac. The software package offers basic document management features but what is important is that can create searchable PDF files using the Optical Character Recognition software. We prefer using this scanner’s software package in favor of the whole Nuance Omnipage, Nuance PaperPort and Nuance Power PDF package. The software is compatible with Windows and Mac.

Visioneer inc. also made sure the scanner includes a carrying bag to protect it against scratches.

The main competitors for this document scanner are the brother ds-740d and canon imageformula p-215ii. We reviewed both of them and similar products on our website along with the big desktop Visioneer scanners. .
