Speed & Document size
You can capture a page with an aproximate area of A3 or 304.8 mm x 431.8 mm (12 in. x 17 in.).This scanner is operating using a high end sensor, that is CCD.
To make sure data goes through quickly, such a scanning equipment is connected using USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.
Sheets per minute in simplex mode will be aproximately 140.
If you try the duplex scanning mode, 280 Images every minute in duplex should be possible in optimum conditions
Maybe you’ll be surprised to hear that this scanner is optimized for an average Recommended volume of 120,000 pages daily.
If you need to do roller replacement, then it is expected they have gone through around 600.000 sheets.
Paper Handling
The Ultrasonic sensor and Length detection will take care of the Multifeed Detection, and prevent the feeding of 2 pages at the same time. You will have to work with an Size of the ADF of 500 documents, on this machine.
The maximum Document Weight that the Fujitsu FI-7900 can process is around 5.4 to 56 lb (20 to 209 g/m2) .
This device is capable of scanning long pages up to 304.8 mm x 5,588 mm (12 in. x 220 in. ) , with its Long Document Scanning Mode feature.

Thinking of using the MultiStream function? Go ahead, as it is standard on the Fujitsu FI-7900.
Features for Image Quality
I have seen the Background Removal setting improve with every update of the driver, and it is the same case with the Fujitsu FI-7900 scanner.I preffer using the Edge Correction setting for text documents. I would not use it for photos though
One of the images processing functions I like is the Document Allignment feature. Use it and you will not be dissapointed.
Black dots on the side of the document? Tick the Hole Removal box and your Fujitsu FI-7900 scanner will fill them automatically.
The Streaks Detection is one of those features that we sometimes ignore. The Fujitsu FI-7900 has such a feature, and for text documents it can do wonders.
Extra Features
Should you use the Manual Feeding mode with this machine? I would say it works well on the Fujitsu FI-7900 scanner.I can’t imagine scanning without Barcode Recognition . It really is a good separation or indexing method.
Are you currently using the Automatic Separation of Documents ? I really encourage you to try Automatic Separation of Documents with QR codes.
It’s safe to say that Optical Character Reading is something no scanner should miss. Scanning is not possible without it today.
For predefined forms I preffer the OCR Predefined Zone , just like with other standardized documents.
