It is fast enough to scan medium size projects, considering it will scan all day at 100 pages per minute
We love the Flatbed unit and the fact that you can feed the scanner while scanning, as you can literally scan without interrupting the scanning process.

Fujitsu fi-7700 Datasheet Explained
Regarding the scanning size, this Fujitsu fi-7700 will convert pages up to 11.69 in x 16.54 in. It can go below this size, and with the independent side guides, you will be able to scan non-regular documents pretty easily.
As with most of the Fujitsu scanning devices, this model will obtain a true optical resolution of 1200dpi if you go through the driver.
As it happens with most document scanners from Fujitsu, this scanner is fitted with a CCD capturing sensor. As you probably know, such sensors are great at providing the highest quality, therefore improving the accuracy of the color detection, blank page detection and also OCR.
To make sure data goes through quickly, such scanning equipment is connected using USB 3.0. You might think that such big devices should be network scanners. Well, it’s mostly used as an independent scanner which is designed for a user, not for a workgroup.
Users can scan at 100 Pages per minute in simplex mode when you use the simplex option.
The scan speed in simplex should be around 100 PPM when scanning in landscape. Meanwhile, in duplex mode, this device should achieve around 200 IPM. It sounds more like an entry-level production scanner, but trust us, the versatility is second to none.
Scanning 30,000 documents every day should not be a problem. You might wonder whether this daily volume is enough, but I guess it’s more of a case of quality over quantity.
The driver works on both interfaces, Twain and ISIS, with very good results on both variants.
You should be able to reach a roller life of around 300.000 sheets most of the time.
Specs for paper handling
Unlike your average multifunction, this machine uses an Overlap detection (Ultrasonic sensor) and Length detection feature to prevent it from double feeding pages. The ultrasonic sensor detects anomalies in sound.
The Document Feeder Capacity is around 300 sheets and it has a flexible design that allows you to easily align even non-standard documents by using the independent side guides.
When it comes to Document Weight the Fujitsu fi-7700 is capable of handling a sheet of paper from 5.3 to 110 lb. The large variation is provided by the straight paper path, which is very good even when scanning thick cardstock.
If you have a document that is 220 in long, the Fujitsu fi-7700 will scan it automatically. Otherwise, the length detection sensor will stop the paper if the long document mode is not selected.

Worried in regards to the weight of the scanner? You should know it has a weight of around 77 lbs.
In regards to the delivered scanning applications, the Fujitsu fi-7700 comes with the PaperStream IP driver (TWAIN/ISIS) image enhancement solution.
The Paperstream Capture is the scanning software bundled with the software. It also has an advanced version, called the Paperstream Capture Pro. Both the driver and the software will be available on a Setup DVDROM.
You will also find a patch code sheet, a 2D matrix code sheet and also a 2D barcode for Paperstream, which is an example of how a 2d barcode can be used with the scanner.
The other software delivered with the scanners is the Scanner Central Admin management software for a single user or for a dedicated network of scanners.
Also, you can use the ScanSnap Manager for fi-series, Scan to Microsoft SharePoint, ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap) ABBYY FineReader Sprint, Scanner Central Admin Agent.
Features for Productivity
While this is something normal these days, the Fujitsu fi-7700 has the Auto Crop function. Keep it enabled for most scanning jobs.
The driver of the Fujitsu fi-7700 offers Automated Rotation of Documents, and it is easy to use it.
One of the productivity features that we love is Auto Color. This Fujitsu fi-7700 scanner works with such a setting and it’s available in the Paperstream IP driver.
As you would expect, you can run this scanner with Blank page detection. You can enable it from the driver.
I just love the Dual-stream scanning spec. It allows me to output files in color, black and white or grayscale in the same job
Quality of images
With the Fujitsu fi-7700, you can expect perfectly clean documents. Just enable the Smooth Background and let it do its magic.
The Page Margin Cleanup helps you by cleaning the edges of your scanned documents.
Straightening an Image can be done by enabling the deskew setting in the scanner driver. It does not conflict with most other settings on the Fujitsu fi-7700, so we recommend you leave it on.
For standard documents, I always have the Hole Removal setting turned on in the driver.
If you find streaks on your images, check the Streaks Detection setting. It comes as standard on the Fujitsu fi-7700.
Extra Features
Can you use the Fujitsu fi-7700 to scan really old documents? It should work if you enable the Feed Paper Manually settings.
Check if your scanner comes with free Bar Code Discovery . If not, buy this option or get another scanner who has it.
Always check if the Auto Document Separation is free on the scanner. I have seen some manufacturers selling the barcode option.
I can’t imagine this scanner without the OCR setting, as I tend to use it quite a lot these days.
Field Indexing is easy to use and is a standard feature with the Fujitsu fi-7700.
