Features for Productivity
I love using the biggest scanning size and just enable the Auto Crop , especially for mixed documents.I like the Automatic Rotation of Images for documents that are not homogenous when it comes to orientation. A mix of portrait and landscape documents will be handled by the Automatic Rotation of Images mode.
It’s always a nice thing to have colored documents detected automatically. A Brother ADS-2400N offers this function as standard through its driver.
When was the last time you had to remove blank pages manually? The Brother ADS-2400N will do this automatically, when you use the Blank page detection function.
Dual stream scanning is a standard feature on scanners these days, but not on the Brother ADS-2400N. I must say it’s a bit dissapointing.
Quality of images
The Background Smoothing is a must have feature with any scanner and the Brother ADS-2400N scanner has it as standard.Have you tried using the Edge Correction for images? If it works correctly for pictures, then keep it enabled on the Brother ADS-2400N permanently.
Can you trust the Document Allignment totally? Maybe not, but on the Brother ADS-2400N it will work perfectly most of the time.
Hole Punch Removal is interesting to use as it provides you with clean images on the perforated side.
The Streaks Detection function is most often installed on bigger equipment . The scanner we are talking about is not supplied with Streaks Detection.
Extra Features
How good is the Brother ADS-2400N for crumpled documents? Just turn on the Feeding Paper by Hand and check for yourself!Check if your scanner comes with free Barcode Detection . If not, buy this option or get another scanner who has it.
On the Brother ADS-2400N the Separate Documents Automatically setting is not available. That drops the throughput a great deal.
The Optical Character Reading is mandatory on just about any scanner and the Brother ADS-2400N comes as standard with it.
The Brother ADS-2400N does not come with the Zonal OCR feature.
