First of all let’s talk about the Doxie GO SE vs Doxie Go SE Wifi. The only difference is that the SE Wifi has wi-fi included which we highly recommend.

This portable scanner can connect to your PC and Mac through either USB cable or Wi-fi. But this is a document scanner that is completely independent because you can scan directly to an SD card. You can even connect it via USB without using any special drivers.

The scanning speed is nothing to brag about. It has an automatic document feeder but without an ADF tray that scans at 7 pages per minute and there is no single pass duplex scanning mode.

The Doxie software integrates Optical Character Recognition technology from ABBYY which allows you to create searchable PDFs out of your JPEG, PDF and PNG digital scans.

You can also scan directly to the Cloud to either iCloud, Dropbox or Evernote.

There is also a rechargeable battery bundled into the device which should last for about 400 scans.

If you want to scan to your smartphone or tablet, you can install the Doxie app on your iOS device.

The Doxie Q is 20 USD more expensive than the Doxie Go SE Wifi and almost 50 USD more than the Doxie Go SE. So what is the price tag for?

First of all, it has an automatic document feeder ADF tray that can hold up to 10 documents.

The battery is also much bigger, it can perform up to 1000 scans as opposed to 400. This is a big increase and a game changer for people like me who always like to recharge devices as rarely as possible.

You get an LCD screen and extra buttons for setting the DPI resolution and the scanning format to operate the scanner more easily.

The speed also got a slight increase at about 8-9 pages per minute in reality, but the difference is not big.

If you need Wi-fi, we recommend this as the portable document scanner of your choice because the price difference is small for the extra features.

But what about the Fujitsu ScanSnap IX100 vs Doxie Go Se Wifi and Doxie Q?

First off all the Ix100 has the same type of connectivity: Wi-fi and USB. The speed is much better at 11 images per minute.

This scanner comes with access to the ScanSnap cloud which is a proprietary platform made by Fujitsu for storing your scanned documents. You don’t get that with the Doxie.

There is no SD Card support though in this device which can be a minus. The battery is good for about 250 scans, so slightly lower than what the Doxie can achieve.

It also has a wider variety of file formats like JPEG, BMP and TIFF. The best thing about it is the access to the entire ScanSnap ecosystem which offers a variety of apps useful for receipts, business cards, document management and image post-processing. You don’t get that with the Doxie portable document scanners.

While the Doxie Go bundles in the ABBYY Optical Character Recognition engine, this has the full software that also converts to Word Documents and Excel spreadsheets with editable text.

Price-wise it is at the same price level with the Doxie Go SE, so at that price point, I would not waste any time and buy the IX100 unless I need the SD card option or the slightly longer battery life.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i is one of the best mobile scanners ever made. But it is the most expensive one here. So what does it offer?

Let’s compare the ScanSnap IX100 vs ScanSnap S1300i.

The S1300i brings two major things to the table. First there is the Automatic Document Feeder Tray that can hold 10 A4 sheets.

The second is the single pass duplex scanning mode. Even though the simplex speed is almost the same, this device can scan 24 images per minute because duplex documents only have to be scanned once.

It also has the ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap, so no improvements there.

But what are the downsides?

It only has USB connectivity. That is unforgivable for a scanner that costs that much.

It is bigger and bulkier but that is understandable because the Dual CIS sensors and ADF tray take up more space.

It also doesn’t have a rechargeable battery so you need to keep it plugged in at all times.

If you want a desktop document scanner from the same ecosystem, the Fujitsu ScanSnap IX1500 (Successor to the Fujitsu IX500) is the way to go. It offers the same apps but with a much faster scanning speed and more features.

Doxie Go SE Wifi vs Doxie Q vs Fujitsu ScanSnap IX100 vs ScanSnap S1300i. Which one?

In the Doxie Go SE vs Doxie Q, the Doxie Go SE has better value for money. But if you need the wireless connection then you are probably deciding between the Doxie Go SE Wifi vs Doxie Q and there, the extra 20 USD is worth it for the Doxie Q because of the document feeder and LCD screen.

In the Doxie Go SE Wifi vs Fujitsu ScanSnap IX100, I would take the Fujitsu because the SD Card feature doesn’t matter as much as the powerful scanning software.

In the Fujitsu ScanSnap IX100 vs ScanSnap S1300i, it is a question of what matters to you. If you are on-the-go a lot, the IX100 is your best choice for example as a receipt scanner because it has a battery and wi-fi and it is portable. If you are going to have it on your desk 80% of the time, the S1300i will do better as a desktop document scanner.
