The good: 224 images / minute, 350-page ADF tray, 3 double-feed sensors, good OCR, this Xerox DocuMate 4799 scanner has it all
The bad: Well, these features come at a price. Not the cheapest scanner
Is it worth buying? If you have to scan thousands of pages per day, yes. How much does it cost now?

Your batch of documents has different sized documents? The Automtic Page Size Detection will sort that for you.You should use the Auto Image Rotate for non specific orientation. The Xerox 4799 has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.
One feature I enjoy in the Xerox 4799 and other machines, is the Auto Color . Try it, and it will definitely change your life.

With the Xerox 4799 you can expect perfectly clean documents. Just enable the Smooth Background and let it do its magic.Have you tried using the Edge Correction for images? If it works correctly for pictures, then keep it enabled on the Xerox 4799 permanently.
Deskew document can be done by enabling this setting in the scanner driver. It will only conflict with other special settings on the Xerox 4799 scanner from time to time, so keep it on.
When was the last time you had Perforated Page Correction turned off? Personally, I can’t remember when that was.
I preffer using Streaks Removal on documents with writing only, but the scanner here does not have this option.
Extra Features
Sometimes I prefer enabling the Manual Feeding from the driver, to make sure the Xerox 4799 will process older documents safely.Although the Bar Code Discovery isn’t the only separation method, I recommend you get it.
Auto Separation is one of those features I really like playing with. Currently, for Auto Separation I still find patch codes reliable.
It’s safe to say that Optical Character Recognition is something no scanner should miss. Scanning is not possible without it today.
The OCR Predefined Zone is very popular with users and comes as standard on the Xerox 4799 scanner.
