Visioneer Roadwarrior 3 has a scanning speed of 11 images per minute (ipm). Although that is not something impressive, as most scanners with similar price can archive 15 ipm, it is still acceptable and fair.

It’s compatible with A4 documents of 16 lb to 32 lb thickness range- an excellent feature for the price. It boasts of high-resolution scanning of up to 600dpi. With an optical scanning resolution of 300 dpi being considered as normal and 400dpi very good, 600dpi is excellent and guarantees high-quality OCR.

Connectivity is through USB 2.0. What this means is that you can only connect it to PC or laptop, which is not bad, though that is a little lesser than most scanners in its category which do have wifi or ethernet. It has a Twain interface that makes it easy to integrate with more customized scanning apps.

It comes with a CIS sensor that demands that your document must always have firm contact with the scanning surface. Most portable scanners use a CIS sensor, but Larger office scanners tend to use CCD sensors.

However, Visioneer Roadwarrior 3, like all other products in this price category, cannot automatically remove punch holes if you care about that. Moreover, it does not automatically align your document; as such, you will need to make sure your paper is positioned straight.

What do real users say?

Many reviewers said that had been an excellent replacement for their old flatbed scanners. They were a little skeptical before getting it but proven to be a great little scanner with a lot of capabilities. Some would like the manufacturer to on the software compatibility, especially with Win 7. <!–
