While the features and settings it comes with are second to none, you will definitely be impressed with the quiet operation it provides
At 130ppm, the scanning speed is enough for most scanning projects, while the CCD sensors provide the best image quality.

Fujitsu fi-6800 Datasheet Explained
The Fi6800 color duplex highvolume production scanner will easily process A3 documents or sheets lower than of 11.69 in x 16.54 in.
Like most document scanners from the Fi Series, this scanner can achieve 1200dpi optical resolution. This is possible because unlike other production scanners from Canon or Panasonic, the Fujitsu is fitted with a high-quality CCD and an advanced light source.
What we see lately in other production scanners is the variety they offer in terms of connectivity. Unfortunately, the FI 6800 is only fitted with a 2.0 USB.
The device offers various scanning modes, but at 300dpi, even when scanning color this scanner will reach 130 pages per minute. Enable the 2 sided scanning, and you can capture around 260 images every minute.
Fujitsu estimates that you will be scanning around 20.000 documents each day on average.
The driver interface has two options which will allow developers to play around and do their thing: Paperstream IP Twain, Isis.
Every 600,000 sheets scanned expect to replace your roller kit consumables.
Specs for paper handling
I am sure you have seen it before, in batch scan more documents are fed at the same time. This is called multifeed and Fujitsu uses a Triple Ultrasonic sensor with 3 separate zones. They can detect any double feed and work hand in hand with the length detection.
The ADF capacity is large enough to hold around 500 A4 sheets. This value is calculated for standard paper and won’t remain the same if you use thicker pages.
The maximum Document Weight that this scanner can process starts around 5.4 and will reach approximately 56 lb.
They have not forgotten to make the scanning operation available for longer documents. For them, just enable the long document mode and scan up to 160 inches in length.
Fujitsu fi-6800 accessories unboxing
Unlike other production scanners, this device is small and relatively light. With an approximate size of around 18 by 12 by 12 inches and a weight of 70lbs, it’s rather compact.
Just like any Fujitsu scanner, this one comes with a lot of software included. For example, Paperstream IP is the TWAIN and ISIS operating driver of the scanner, which is also available for the Windows server.
The scanning software is called Paperstream Capture Pro and it provides a lot of features to batch scan just about any project you have.
We also have other software, which is mainly used for administration and maintenance. Software Operation Panel, Error Recovery Guide, ScanSnap Manager for fi Series, Scan to Microsoft SharePoint (web download only) and Scanner Central Admin are the other items that are bundled with the scanner.
Features for Productivity
Being part of the Fujitsu line-up of production scanners, this device has all the settings you need to increase your productivity.
For example, auto-crop and automatic size detection are included in the driver and offer different separate settings to choose from.
Rotating the documents to landscape and portrait can be done automatically by the software and in most cases it’s correct.
The automatic color detection is a function which outputs documents based on the current settings of the printed document. Therefore, color documents will be color and gray documents will be gray.
You can also use multi-streaming for such cases, and create simultaneously a black and white copy and a color copy for the same batch.
Last but not least you can use the blank page detection and removal feature to eliminate blank documents from your batch.
Quality of images
The background smoothing is an image cleanup feature that is highly important, especially when scanning lots of documents every day.
At the same time, you can use the document edge cleanup and improve the quality of your scanned image even more.
Fujitsu has a very good deskewing algorithm and I have seen it straighten documents that were at very weird angles. Even badly fed documents are deskewed very easily.
The hole punch removal setting works for both round holes and also GBC punched documents. It corrects the margins and can be used together with the edge cleanup function.
Since Fujitsu is using a CCD sensor, you also have a vertical streak reduction setting which cleans your documents even when the scanner is very dirty. This lets you reduce the cleaning cycles and improve the overall throughput.
Extra Features
When you have documents that are older or in a bad condition, you can turn on manual feeding and start scanning them without any worries.
Fujitsu scanners will read Barcodes, Patchcodes and also detect blank documents. Patch codes and white pages can be used for automatic document separation. In Paperstream Capture PRO there is also the option to separate with barcodes or QR codes.
At the same time, the same barcodes and QR codes can be used for indexing or file renaming. You can also do that with the Zonal OCR, which captures pre defined fields from standardized documents.
The same engine will be usef for full optical character recognition. I have seen it slow down the export of the batches so try and use a third party solution.

These scanners are equally matched in capture area, both have the power to digitize an area of 11.69 in x 16.54 in.
The Fujitsu fi-6800 scans with a CCD sensor, and the Panasonic KV-S8127 has a CIS sensor. As we often see it the CCD model offers a higher scanning depth , and it’s true also in our case.
We like the long paper mode, and the Fujitsu fi-6800 converts documents up to 120 in in length. Meanwhile, Panasonic KV-S8127 will process documents around 100 in.
For your connectivity needs, the Fujitsu fi-6800 provides USB 2.0 while the other scanner provides USB 3.0.
If we look at actual digitization speed, the Fujitsu fi-6800 can scan at 130 pages a minute meanwhile the other scanning machine can only do 120 ppm.
