Features for Productivity
I love using the biggest scanning size and just enable the Automtic Page Size Detection , especially for mixed documents.You should use the Automated Rotation of Documents for non specific orientation. The Brother ADS-2200 has such a setting and you can set it up in the driver.
A nice setting to have is the Document Auto Color Detection . It is enabled or disabled through the driver of the Brother ADS-2200.
When was the last time you had to remove blank pages manually? The Brother ADS-2200 will do this automatically, when you use the Blank document removal function.
It’s still strange to think the Brother ADS-2200 does not have MultiStream . It’s a bad surprise from my point of view.
Quality of images
I have seen the Background Removal setting improve with every update of the driver, and it is the same case with the Brother ADS-2200 scanner.The Page Margin Cleanup helps you by cleaning your scanned scanned documents.
One of the images processing functions I like is the Document Allignment feature. Use it and you will not be dissapointed.
Hole Punch Removal is interesting to use as it provides you with clean images on the perforated side.
The Streaks Detection setting is usually installed on more expensive scanners . The Brother ADS-2200 in question is not supplied with Streaks Detection.
Extra Features
Should you use the Manual Feed Mode mode with this machine? I would say it works well on the Brother ADS-2200 scanner.If you wish to use the scanner with the Bar Code Discovery option, you will not be happy. The Brother ADS-2200 doesn’t feature the barcode recognition tool.
On the Brother ADS-2200 the Auto Document Separation feature is not present. That decreases the productivity a lot.
The OCR is mandatory on just about any scanner and the Brother ADS-2200 comes as standard with it.
I would have loved a OCR Predefined Zone feature. It’s not available on the Brother ADS-2200 scanner.
